Due to be closed for renovation April-September 2003. The beach is lovely with good snorkelling, very friendly, lots of repeat business, guests socialize in the evenings. Well-equipped, with huge showers, a large kitchen and a dining room shared by all. Also has a pleasant garden with loungers and mature trees and BBQ. It’s only a five-minute walk from the supermarket and beach, and very quiet. Gets many repeat guests and is popular with all ages and nationalities. Run by Peter (German) and friendly guard dog Booboo who is left in charge at night. Convenient for public transport but most people hire a car for excursions. A-C Angler Apartments, Clarke’s Rd 1, Derricks, T/F 4320817, http://www.barbadosahoy.com/angler Traditional Bajan-style architecture, with colourfully painted verandas. Restaurant serves freshly made Caribbean vegetarian and seafood dishes and will prepare special meals on request. Some home-grown vegetables. Owners live on the premises and priority is given to service, which is friendly and informal, and family orientated. Under 100 m from the cove with good snorkelling. Dive or yoga packages can be arranged.
