The National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA), holds plays, concerts and exhibitions in the four weeks before Independence on 30 November. It has been held annually in November since 1973 to commemorate Barbados’ independence. Starting at community level, competitors work their way up through parish heats to reach the finals at the Frank Collymore Hall in Bridgetown.
