Nearly all the major hotels have tennis courts and many are lit for night play. Throughout the island there is a combination of public and private tennis facilities and some top class professional coaches providing tuition. The Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex is the official home of the National Tennis Centre, but the other main centres are at Club Rockley Resort and the West Side Tennis Centre at Sunset Crest behind the Chattel House Village. A David Lloyd Tennis Club is being built at Sugar Hill, in a prestigious development which will not exactly be open to all, but it is expected that there will be some tennis celebrity matches and visits from leading world players which will raise the profile of the game in Barbados.
