The journey to Barcelona by coach is long and uncomfortable, but can be a cheap alternative in summer when flight prices soar. The main European long-distance coach company, Eurolines, T 08705 143219, http://www.gobycoach.com, offers several departures several times a week in the summer (once a week out of season) from London to Spain; the journey to Barcelona takes 24 hours. Single fares are about £80; return fares around £110. The main bus and coach station in Barcelona is the Estació d’Autobuses Barcelona-Nord (Carrer Ali Bei 80, T 93 265 65 08, M Arc de Triomf).
