Swish, upmarket bar serving high-quality Basque tapas including pinxos, (bread with all kinds of toppings), and oxtail albóndigas (meatballs). Theres also a dining area. Los Timbales, C Alcalá 227, T 91 725 07 68. Metro Ventas. 1300-1630 and 2000-2400. Crammed with bullfighting memorabilia, this is the classic stop-off before or after a corrida. Good tapas, including the house speciality, timbales or pies stuffed with meat or cheese, and a terrace in summer.
