There are quite a few bars on Zapatería, Correría and around Plaza de la Burullería, mostly weekend only, and plenty of bars around San Francisco and Fueros. Bar El 7, C Cuhillería 7, T 945-272298. An excellent bar at the head of the Casco Medievals liveliest street. Its big range of bocadillos keeps students and all-comers happy. Order a half if youre not starving; they make em pretty large. Bar Rio, C Eduardo Dato 20, T 945-230067. A decent café with outdoor tables by day, and one of the last bars to shut at night, when it caters to a good-natured gay/straight crowd. Original live music on Thursday nights. Cruz Blanco, C San Prudencio 26. This cavernous cervecería is a popular evening drinking spot with several outdoor tables and decent-sized cañas. Handy for the cinema and theatre. Hala Bedi, C Cuchillería 98, T 945-260411. A late-opening Basque bar with a cheerful atmosphere, serving delicious crepes.
