Zodiakos, C Euskal Herria s/n (corner of Telletxe), T 944-604059. This squiggly bar in the heart of Getxo is one of the areas best, with a terrace, pintxos, and service with a smile. Underneath is Alai, a weekend discoteca. Bataplán, Playa de la Concha s/n, T 943-460439. San Sebastiáns most famous discoteca, right on La Concha beach. Open Thursday-Saturday for a smart young crowd from midnight onwards. The music is pretty much what youd expect for a resort club; mostly club anthems and pop crowd-pleasers. Rises to prominence during the film festival when it hosts various after-parties. 12-15 entry. Discobolo, Boulevard 27. A tacky option just outside Parte Vieja. Far from cutting edge, but cheerful atmosphere. Kandela, C Escolta Real 20, Antiguo. This bar in the suburb of Antiguo usually features live bands from Thursday to Sunday. It ranges from rock to pop and usually kicks off at about 2300. The 6 entry includes a drink. Komplot, C Pedro Egaña 5, T 943-472109. Small and à la mode club featuring probably the best house music in San Sebastián. Just next to the Euskotren station. Ku, Monte Igueldo s/n. Atop the Igueldo hill at the end of Ondarreta beach is one of the citys more glamorous discos, with a smart mixed crowd. Usually goes on later than anywhere. La Kabutzia, Paseo de la Concha s/n, T 943-429785. Situated in the shiplike Real Club Naútico on the beach, this is a well-situated club with a young crowd. Rotonda, Playa de la Concha 6, T 943-429095. Another club on La Concha beach, open very late weekend nights. The music on offer varies, but usually hovers around popular dance, with some salsa and reggae thrown in as required. Aural, C Paseo de la Senda 2, T 945-147400. A fairly refined club as these things go, with a very trendy interior and chart hits alongside a fair whack of nostalgia. A more mature crowd than many.
