Tamborrada (19th-20th), San Sebastián. The day of the pincushion saint is celebrated with a deafening parade of drummers through the streets from midnight on the 19th. Its said that the custom originated around the town well, when a group of local lasses started banging on the buckets they were waiting to fill. Many of the drummers dress as chefs; as members of the gastronomic societies of the city, they adjourn to the kitchen after the parade to prepare the mother of all midnight feasts. San Anastasio (22nd), Oyon (Alava). This Riojan town celebrates this fiesta by parading a figure named Katxi through the streets.
