Getxo blues festival (second week) in the Plaza Santa Eugenia. A lively fiesta in the Guipúzcoan town of Segura. Mid-June. San Juan (24th) has his day in the sun in many places, notably Tolosa and Laguardia. The night before, bonfires are lit in many villages, echoing pre-Christian summer solstice celebrations. In San Sebastián, the Semana Gastronómica (last week) is a treat for the taste buds. San Pedro (29th) steps up, celebrated particularly in Lekeitio, where the tricky kaxarranka is danced on top of a chest hoisted to shoulder height and carried around town.
