Batzokia, on Mundakas main square. The 9.90 menú del día can be a good opportunity to try the local catch at a discount. Ereperi, San Pelaio s/n, between Bakio and Bermeo, T 94-6194065. A good restaurant overlooking San Juan de Gaztelagutxe, with a superb terrace and a cheap lunch menú. Hotel El Puerto, Portu Kalea 1, Mundaka, T 94-6876725. The bar below this hotel is Mundakas best, overlooking the harbour. Oxangoiti Jauregia, C Gamarra 2, Lekeitio, T 94-6843151. A fairly expensive restaurant in an historic building next to the ayuntamiento. Smart wooden interior, a craft shop, and tasty seafood (how did you guess?) at fairly stiff prices. Emperatriz Zita, Santa Elena Etorbidea s/n, Lekeitio, T 94-6842655. The restaurant in this seafront hotel is well-priced. Eretegia Joxe Manuel, C Sabino Arana 23, Ondarroa, T 94- 6830104. Although it does a range of other appetising dishes, the big charcoal grill outside this restaurant caters to carnivores with large appetites. Forget quarter-pounders; here the steaks approach the kilogram mark and are very tasty. About 30 a head. Hotel Beitia, Av Pascual Abaroa 25, Lekeitio, T 94-6840111. The restaurant is a much better bet than the hotel, with high-quality seafood, and a pleasant patio. Kaia, Txatxo kaia 5, Lekeitio, T 94-6840284. One of many harbourside restaurants, this serves fairly upmarket but tasty fish. Restaurante Zapirain, Igualdegui 5, Lekeitio, T 94- 6840255. A fish restaurant which is popular with Lekeitians as well as visitors. Fairly traditional in style and welcoming in manner.
