Popular with the fighetti (the well-heeled crowd) this club and restaurant hosts 70's and 80's funk on Wednesdays, dance and cover bands on Fridays and 'Supergroove' on Saturdays with other live concerts every night. Organized by the Rosa Rose group (Rose Selavy etc), this is essentially fighetto fun in the hills when the going gets hot in town. Villa Serena, via della Barca, 1, T 051-6156789. Country villa close to Lo Stadio (an inexpensive taxi ride away) open at weekends with tables and chairs under the trees, free entry and cheap drinks. The top floor is home to art shows and installations, the ground floor has two bars with 80s-90s music. The basement has live local music until midnight, and dancing to poppy stuff until 0300. This 17th-century frescoed palazzo plays host to various classical, jazz and opera concerts, with the entrance price and membership card covering all the wine you can drink, and a light supper after the music.
