Diana, via dell dell'Indipendenza 24, T 051-231302. Closed Mon. Part of the establishment since the 1920s this elegant and sophisticated restaurant, complete with crystal chandeliers is one for gourmets wanting to appreciate the finer nuances in the local cuisine. The Dindo Diana (turkey) and the chicken galantine are the restaurant's signature main courses while the apple meringue cake is an unmissable pudding. Luciano, via N Sauro 19, T 051-231249. Closed Wed. Art Nouveau style restaurant, supposedly a combination of osteria and ristorante. A lovely and original place, perfect for an intimate tête-à-tête. The mellow wood interior has dimmed lighting and little alcoves for privacy. Great for a quiet lunch stop with good soups, chicken, homely pasta dishes and tempting dolci. Relatively expensive.
