The Jazz Festival (first Friday to the second Sunday in July, T 33932013, http://www.cjf.dk) takes over the city with over 600 concerts with the whole jazz repertoire being represented. The 2002 event brought Box of Toads, Doctor Structure, and Frederik Lundin Overdrive, and lots of free outdoor events. Ben Webster, Stan Getz and Dexter Gordon are just some of the American jazz players who settled in Copenhagen for short and long periods of time.
