Start the second day of your stay in Dublin with a visit to Trinity College, where you can wander around the pretty quadrangle and peer at the Book of Kells in the old library building. For lunch, try one of the nearby cafés, such as the tiny Steps of Rome, followed in the afternoon by some serious retail therapy around Grafton Street. Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin Castle, St Patricks Cathedral and OConnell Street are all within walking distance if youre keen to do more sightseeing. Your evening could be enjoyably spent making the most of Dublins cultural life at the Abbey or the Gate theatres, preceded by an exemplary early dinner at Chapter One. If youve managed to squeeze a couple more days into your weekend, make the most of any fine weather by exploring the Phoenix Park. Ryans or Nancy Hands on Parkgate Street are good options for lunch. In the afternoon cross the river to reach Kilmainham Gaol and the Irish Museum of Modern Art, or visit the National Museum of Decorative Arts and History at Collins Barracks. Spend the evening enjoying trad Irish music at the Cobblestone or hanging out at Voodoo.
