Dublin Bus operates the hop-on, hop-off Dublin City Tour, with open-top buses running every 10 minutes between 0930 and 1700 and every 30 minutes from 1700 to 1830, starting at McDonalds on OConnell Bridge. The complete tour takes over an hour and visits 16 sights around the city, with guided commentary provided by the bus driver. The bus ticket (E10 adult, E5 child under 14) includes discounts at each of the sights and is valid for a day. You can join the tour at any point along the route, and break your journey at any stage to explore a particular attraction. Dublin Bus also runs a Coast and Castle Tour, which takes in the Botanic Gardens, the Casino at Marino and Malahide Castle before heading back in to the city via Howth and Dollymount Strand. Tickets (E17 adult, E8.50 child) include a tour of Malahide Castle. Guide Friday, 13 South Leinster Street, T 01 676 5377, offers a hop-on, hop-off city tour similar to the Dublin Bus route, but leaves out Kilmainham Gaol and the National Museum of Modern Art. Ticket prices (E12 adult, E4 child, E28 family) include discounted admission to several sights for the duration of your trip. Dublin Ghostbus Tour, T 01 873 4222, is a two-hour story-telling tour that runs twice nightly at 1900 and 2130 from Tuesday to Friday. It starts from 59 OConnell Street and takes in haunted houses, bodysnatching, Dublins association with Dracula and Irish wakes. The tour costs E20 per person and is considered unsuitable for children.
