This is by no means a definitive list but would make an enjoyable and varied day for those who have already visited the more obvious tourist sights. Start the day at the excellent Museum of Scotland, in Chambers Street, after which you'll have earned a much-needed coffee break at the Elephant House, on George IV Bridge. Then head down towards Princes Street and pop into the National Gallery of Scotland, which holds the city's finest collection of old masters. If you're feeling peckish, take a wee stroll down to Black Bo's on Blackfriars Street for a superb vegetarian lunch. Back down to Princes Steet for a bus to Ocean Terminal, home of the Royal Yacht Britannia, a real treat for monarchists and republicans alike. Then it's along to The Shore in Leith for a superb seafood dinner at Fishers, one of many classy eateries around this area.
