Involves being locked in a haunted graveyard at night with the notorious Mackenzie poltergeist. Leaves nightly at 2030 and 2200 from the Royal Mile, near the Mercat Cross. Adults £6, concessions £5. Mercat Tours, T/F 225 6591, http://www.mercattours.com Run a variety of scary tours such as 'Ghosts & Ghouls' (1900 and 2000), the 'Ghost Hunter Trail' (2130 and 2230) and 'Hidden Underground Vaults' (1100-1600). All tours leave from the Mercat Cross by St Giles Cathedral. They also run 'The Royal Mile Walk' (at 1030) and the ‘Ghost & Witches Tour’ in conjunction with Robin's Tours, T/F 557 9933, which includes a visit to the 200-year-old haunted vaults hidden deep beneath the city streets (tours from outside the Tourist Information Centre at 1900 and 2100 April-October and 1900 only November to March). All tours cost £6, except the ‘Ghosts and Ghouls which is £7.50.
