Glasgow enjoys a wide span of art, theatre, film and music. The majority of the larger theatres, concert halls and cinemas are concentrated in the city centre, though its two most renowned theatres The Citizens and the Tramway are to be found south of the Clyde. The city is also a hotbed of live music which has gone from strength to strength over the years. There are now more bands than you can shake your booty at and countless live music venues ready to give everyone a stage.
Details of all the citys events are listed in the two local newspapers, The Herald and the Evening Times. Another excellent source of information is the fortnightly listings magazine The List, http://www.list.co.uk, which also covers Edinburgh. To book tickets for concerts or theatre productions, call at the Ticket Centre, City Hall, Candleriggs T 0141-287 4000. Note that some venues dont have their own box office. For tickets and information go to Tower Records, on Argyle St, T 0141-204 5788.
