A number of companies offer express coach services day and night around the country and to most English cities; these include Citylink Coaches (T 08705-505050, http://www.citylink.co.uk) and National Express (T 08705-808080, http://www.nationalexpress.com). Tickets can be bought at bus stations or from a huge number of agents throughout the country. Fares from London with National Express are between £28 and £36 return. The journey takes around 8 hours. There are several services daily, with links to other major English cities, including: Manchester (4 hours); Birmingham (5½ hours); Newcastle (4 hours) and York (6½ hours). All long-distance buses to and from Glasgow arrive and depart from Buchanan bus station (Killermont St, T 0141-332 7133), three blocks north of George Square. There's a left-luggage office at Buchanan bus station, open daily 0630-2230. There are discounts available for full-time students or those aged under 25 or over 50, and also a family card which allows two children to travel free with two adults, though children normally travel for half price. Passes can be bought at travel agents and at the booking office at Buchanan bus station (T 0121-423 8499 for details). In North America these passes are available from British Travel International (T 1-800-327 6097, http://www.britishtravel.com) or from US National Express (T 502-298 1395).
