An unusual club venue with drapes and booths as well as an up for it crowd who love their R&B and hip hop. MAS, 29 Royal Exchange Sq, T 0141-221 7080. As well as being the temporary home of the Sub Club nights which include the incredibly popular and weekly Sub Culture and Optimo, it is also holds its own nights including a staff night for all hardworking bar and club staff, and hip hop nights. 13th Note Club, 260 Clyde St, T 0141-243 2177. A fine club that not only has two bars over two floors but also holds live music and club nights. A laid-back space with a smorgasbord of musical tastes from electro and hip hop to jazz and indie. Alaska, 142 Bath La, T 0141-248 1777. A happening club with monthly nights Foot Therapy, Homebass from the Jengaheads and Freelance Science from the Slam boys, Orde Meikle and Stuart McMillan. This venue is home to some of Glasgows best club nights including top-notch DJs Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox at Colours, Judge Jules at Inside Out, and the Slam boys at Pressure, as well as Traxx and the Sunday Social which includes DJs and live music. Asylum, 70 Cowcaddens Rd, T 0141-332 0681. This club is set in Caledonian University and as well as being a student union it is also a club with a regular alternative indie night. Cathouse, 15 Union St, T 0141-248 6606. If you like all things rock this is definitely the place for you, with two floors devoted to metal, grunge, thrash and a good bit of moshing. Destiny, 18 Cambridge St, T 0141-353 6555. A dressed-up club for a slightly older crowd wanting to party to the latest dance tracks.
