Home to hard-core rave club Shake the Disease and electro club Spanner. It also doubles as a ceilidh venue. Shack, 193 Pitt St, T 0141-332 7522. This venue is huge, in fact its an old converted church, which is popular with students and young clubbers alike. Chart and dance tunes abound. Strawberry Fields, 56 Oswald St, T 0141-221 7871. A club playing music from the 60s through to present-day chart stuff. Sub Club, 22 Jamaica St, T 0141-248 4600. The Subby suffered from severe smoke and water damage over a year ago after a fire broke out in the adjoining building. It is undoubtedly one of Glasgows best-loved clubs and the regulars are eagerly awaiting its return. A club made up of several rooms offering a mix of music but mainly focusing on the studenty house and R&B gang. Tunnel, 84 Mitchell St, T 0141-204 1000. One of Glasgows posiest and best-dressed clubs with a regular crowd who know their DJs and their favourite house style. Velvet Rooms, 520 Sauchiehall St, T 0141-332 0755. A popular Sauchiehall Street haunt for students and dressed-up drinkers who want to enjoy everything from R&B and soul to more commercial sounds.
