Glasgow's a large city and it's well worth taking one of the many tours on offer to help you get your bearings. Several firms offer guided bus tours on open-topped double-decker buses, which might sound cheesy but are a good value option as you can hop on and off as you choose. They'll take you right out to the West End and will also go to the main sights along the Clyde. They depart regularly from George Square from 0930, and have wheelchair access. If you don't fancy the bus, there are always boat trips along the Clyde the river that was once the focus of city life. You can choose from short trips in the heart of the city, or do as generations of Glaswegians have and take a day trip along the river to one of the Clyde's coastal resorts known locally as going 'doon the watter'. Among the walking tours on offer are the enjoyably creepy ghoulies and ghosties ones, ideal if you like a supernatural thrill, while those who prefer to kick up their heels and try a highland fling can take a pub tour that includes entry to a ceilidh club.
