The easiest way of getting around the city of Havana is with Vaivén, T 669713/ 249626-28, run by Rumbos. For US$4 per day you can get on and off a 30-seater bus along a route with 23 stops; buses pass every 50 minutes between 0900-2140. From Calle Monserrate, outside the Floridita bar, the bus goes to Castillo del Morro, the Malecón, Avenida 5 and Avenida 1 in Miramar, the Palacio de las Convenciones and the tourist complex at La Giraldilla, returning via the Plaza de la Revolución and the university before returning to the Malecón, along the Prado to the Capitolio and back to Calle Monserrate. There is a guide on board if you need information.

State-owned travel agencies have bureaux in all the major hotels. Guides speak Spanish, English, French, Italian or German; the tours are well-organized and good value, but actual departure depends on a minimum number of passengers (usually six).
