This tiny Italian-style ice-cream store, near many bars and restaurants, boasts unusual combinations like ginger and cinnamon, toasted almond and green apple sorbet. A tiny friendly café making fresh sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes and toasties, washed down with a great selection of teas, coffees and juices. Simple and tasty. $ Dai Pai Dong, 57 Shau Kei Wan St East. 0800-2000. Dirt cheap, lively dai pai dong, with basic noodle dishes (no English menu) ideal to fill up en route to the museums. Basic English spoken, can cook to request if vegetarian. No English name, but near the Bonky Parking sign. $$ The Peninsula, Salisbury Rd, T 2920 2888.
