Best known for its fresh-fruit martinis, Drop is a chilled cocktail lounge in the early evenings and a pumping party place later on for the beautiful people, with Hong Kong’s top DJs taking care of the ultra-cool music.

This huge club in a new glossy highrise has three bars, a live music room with bands every night, and a kitchen which serves food until 0200. Very popular and usually queues at weekends.

Home, 2/ F 23 Hollywood Rd, Central, T 2545 0023. 2100-late Mon-Thu, 2100-0900 Fri-Sat. One of the cheapest places and has latest closing times in town, the assorted DJs keep the party going on Fri and Sat nights till 0900, although there are comfy sofas if you fall asleep earlier. Music ranges on different nights between R’n’B, Latin house, funk and progressive house.

Liquid, 1-5 Elgin St, Central, T 2549 8386. 1800-late Tue-Fri, 2000-late Sat-Sun. A large good-vibe venue, it has a ground floor lounge and a basement club with dance floor. Music is usually funky house, and there are assorted offers and happy hours throughout the week, including gay happy hour, 1800-2200 Fri, and free drinks on ladies night, Thu.
