Forget cycling anywhere in the city: the traffic is too intense to make it pleasurable or safe and walking is a more enjoyable option and of course public transport is widespread and cheap. That said, Lantau, Lamma, Cheung Chau, Shek O and other rural areas have bikes for hire which is far more enjoyable, costing around $30-40/day, perhaps a little more at weekends.
