A major international arts festival and the premier arts event in the Asia-Pacific region, this annual festival puts on international acts, plus those from China and Hong Kong. Entertainment throughout the three weeks includes opera, western classical music, jazz, contemporary dance, ballet and theatre in various venues. Nosso Senhor dos Passos (Procession of Holy Christ) (Feb/Mar) An image of Christ carrying the Cross is taken in solemn procession from St Augustine’s Church to the Cathedral in Macau for a night vigil. It is then returned through the city via the stations of the Cross, accompanied by a magenta-robed escort and crowds of people.
