Hong Kong - Getting Around

Travel Guides | Hong Kong | Getting Around Hong Kong

Dotted Line

Hong Kong’s public transport is among the best in the world and makes getting around the city very easy. If you’re staying for more than a couple of days, it’s well worth paying a $100 deposit for an Octopus, an electronic top-up card which is swiped and deducted on the MTR, bus, tram and most ferries and can even be used in the 7-11 store. They can be topped up at MTR stations and the deposit and excess payment refunded from here also. The journeys are slightly cheaper, but more importantly it avoids the inconvenience of having to produce the exact change.
