The crowded outdoor tables are surrounded by food stalls selling crabs, huge prawns, mussels and more, along with simple dishes of noodles and vegetables, with beer and soft drinks. Great fun, especially for kids.

Savour the miso-glazed butterfish with taro, crabmeat tempura, or 6-hour roasted suckling pig with miso clam broth, all in a sumptuous atmosphere with attentive service.

The best option is to enjoy afternoon tea (1430-1800) while gazing at the panorama of the city and surrounding hills. The unappetizing buffet lunch and dinner include sushi, noodles and western dishes.

The cuisine is essentially Pekingese, so a great place to sample the famous Peking Duck. A huge restaurant with portions to match.
