Much hyped but justifiably so, Momo is a North African dining experience (about £50 a head) with a distinctly metropolitan approach to taking reservations (booking weeks ahead is advised in high season). Conspicuous consumers are likely to be found at places like this, where a huge glass frontage and spacious minimalism easily soaks up the buzz of bankers young and old. £££ The Criterion, 224 Piccadilly, T 020-7930 0488. Mon-Sat 1200-1430, 1730-2300. A grand and beautiful setting for some typically assured Marco Pierre White recipes. The interior of this old dance hall is a symphony in wood and gold, the prices are surprisingly reasonable and the atmosphere quite laid back, considering the sumptuousness of the surroundings. £££ Al Duca, 4-5 Duke of York St, T 020-7839 3090. Mon-Fri 1200- 1430, 1800-2300. Still a happening hangout where Milan meets New York in the glass and wood décor and the modern Italian menu.
