If you want Centre Court or Court 1 seats for Wimbledon you’ll need to contact the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Church Rd, Wimbledon, T 020-8946 2244, at least six months in advance. Otherwise you can get there early and queue on the day (some people camp out overnight) to watch play on the outside courts. Determined fans can usually buy cut-price returned tickets later in the afternoon for some Centre Court action. Tennis can be played at the Regent’s Park Tennis Centre, York Bridge, T 020-7486 4216 or the Regent’s Park Golf and Tennis School, Outer Circle, T 020-7724 0643, http://www.rpgts.co.uk. Non- members can only play before 1600 and not at weekends. £5 for a bucket of balls. Three Tennis Courts at £15 an hour. Booking advised.
