Wed-Mon 2000-0100. Fantastic, super-friendly neigh- bourhood bar, crammed with paintings and cartoons by the charismatic owner Julio. He and some of his regulars have formed a band, Los Lamentables, which look set to hit the big time. Tue-Sun 2100-0200. Relaxed bar with ceiling frescoes, excellent cocktails and an arty, hippy-ish crowd. Good place to start the night. La Peluquería, C Ave María 44. Metro Lavapiés. 1200-0300. Look out for the old, tiled entrance to this former hairdressers’ (hence the name). Inside is a laid-back, cosy bar where you can sip mint tea or a cocktail, or pick up a rug or piece of jewellery; most of what you see is for sale.
