Fiesta Dos de Mayo Celebrated in Madrid on 2 May which is the anniversary of its uprising against the Napoleonic forces. It features live bands in the Plaza Dos de Mayo and various events in the theatres and cultural venues. Corpus Christi in Toledo consists of religious celebrations and processions, held eight weeks after Easter. Festimad (mid-late May) is a massive outdoor music festival held in the suburb of Mostoles. Fiestas de San Isidro (second week of May) The fiesta is devoted to Madrid’s patron saint and has developed into a massive event with live bands, parades and street parties all over the city. It also marks the opening of the bullfighting season with several special bullfighting events. Madrid en Danza (Mid-May to mid-June) An International Dance Festival held in venues all over the city. It’s a great opportunity to see everything from new contemporary dance, to flamenco or ballet.
