RR Le Ramsès, 18 Rue ibn Rochd, opposite the Hotel Cap Sim. Take the street on the left at the town end of Place Moulay Hassan. Daily, lunch/dinner in summer, dinner (candle-lit) only rest of year. Around 80dh for a full meal. Has some real Souiri dishes on the menu. RR-R Il Gabbiano, 4 Rue Twahouine, off Rue Laâlouj. Menu at 50dh, but you could eat for more. Some Italian dishes, cheery, young atmosphere in minimal decoration. Good value. R Barbecue stands near port-entrance. Lunchtime. A selection of tiny, Jemaâ el Fna-type fish-barbecue restaurants. Waiters race off to the port if the fish runs out. Prices are shown, but make sure you know what youre paying when you order. Popular with day-trippers. R Café de la Plage, Av Mohammed V. Lunch only, daily. Menu at 55dh. A bit run down, but an institution nevertheless. Just a short walk away from Bab Sebaâ and the port, on the beach. R No-name restaurant in Souk el Hout. Lunchtimes. A good fried-fish stop in the town, in the central fish-souk, just off the main drag. Address popular with souk workers and locals. R Océan Vagabond, Av Mohammed V. Daily 0900-1800. Breakfast 25dh, sandwiches around 25dh. On the beach, opposite the islands (think Amazigh surf-bums on an African beach). Pleasant terrace, good place to relax after a windy stroll along the sands. Decent salads. RRR Restaurant La Trattoria, aka Chez Yvette, Rue Aouinate, an uphill road leading south of the médina, T 044-620959. A large Italian restaurant offering a good feed for 200dh, salad and fish main course for 150dh, pizza, lasagne, osso bucco and occasionally tiramisu. A good address if you want dont want to eat in the restaurant of the Hotel Atlantide. RR-R Restaurant Gégène, Rue de la Marine, just off Place de lIndépendence, T 044-463369. Centrally located near the post office and the Château de la Mer, just south of the médina (look out for Wafa Bank). Specializing in fish and Italian dishes, clientèle of regulars, civil servants, people in business and the like.
