This friendly place, hidden away down some stairs near the university, is indeed reminiscent of someone’s living room. It’s laid back, with comfy chairs and mood lighting. A funky if eclectic mix of reggae, jazz, house, garage and trip-hop plays to a trendy young crowd in this popular club. There is also occasional live music. Echos, vico San Geronimo, T 081-292372. Entrance cost and times vary. A good mix of interesting live acts and up-for-it nights with DJs. Music ranges from ska to rock to tango as well as themed tribute nights to well-known stars. A homage to all things vaguely indie, especially those with a London feel, this dark place also has a good reputation for live acts which play two or three times a week. My Way, via Cappella Vecchia 30, T 081-2451887. Carved out of the rock near piazza dei Martiri, My Way has an energetic young crowd who dance to a disco beat. S'move, vico dei Sospiri 10a, T 081-7645813. 0800-0500. In S'move's daily evolution from bar to club, a DJ and ‘music lounge’ take over from 1800 with the predominantly house ‘discobar’ from 2200.
