For most of the city, certainly the old part, the best way to get around is to walk. The biggest problem with this strategy is the traffic. Cars and scooters rattle down roads barely wide enough to walk down, and expect you to get out of their way. The only solution is to do as the Neapolitans do: take your time and dont be hurried by the constant honking. Despite first impressions the odds are that they wont run you over. But crossing roads in Naples is an art form in many cases the only way youll get across is to find half a gap, grab the opportunity, and push through, confidently stopping the traffic. This may not save your life, but it may be the only way to get to the other side.
