Henrietta Hudson, 438 Hudson St at Morton St,T1-212 924 3347. Mon-Fri 1600-0400, Sat and Sun 1300-0400. Subway 1, 9 to Christopher St. A good meeting spot with a pool table, jukebox and a friendly, casual atmosphere. It’s bustling at night when the dancing kicks off.

Meow Mix, 269 E Houston St at Suffolk St,T1-212 254 0688. Daily 1900-0400. Subway F, V to Lower East Side-2nd Av. Attractive lesbians and a few select men enjoy funk, hip-hop, reggae and house music from the DJs and events such as poetry readings. Thursday is glam girl night.

The Monster, 80 Grove St at Sheridan Sq,T1-212 924 3558. Mon-Fri 1600-0400, Sat and Sun 0200-0400. Subway 1, 9 to Christopher St-Sheridan Sq. Two-floored club featuring a lively disco downstairs and a piano lounge upstairs. It attracts a wonderfully eclectic bunch of social animals and is considered one of the campest places to sing out Broadway tunes. Fun for those seeking the true spirit of the West Village.

Rubyfruit, 531 Hudson St at Charles St,T1-212 929 3343. Mon-Thu 1500-2300, Fri and Sat 1500-2400, Sun 1130-2400. Subway 1, 9 to Christopher St-Sheridan Sq. Sofas, cheap drinks and low-key crowds make this a comfortable lesbian bar where all feel welcome.
