The Staten Island Ferry, (T1-718 815 BOAT) runs from the terminal on South Street at the end of Whitehall Street in Lower Manhatten. This local commuter ferry is one of the best means of catching a free glimpse of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline. Grab a seat near sundown for romantic views of the city. It runs 24 hours daily, every 15 to 20 minutes during the day and every hour at night, with less frequent services at weekends.
