Choose between a Central Park Movie Scenes, a Celebrity Trivia Bike Tour or a three-hour Manhattan Island Bike Tour. The friendly guides allow you the chance to stop and rest every so often. Bike rental is also available: $20 for two hours or $35 for a whole day.

This narrated tour, with stops at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island , is popular with tourists and a good way to see the city from afar.
Gray Line Bus Tour, Port Authority at 8th Av and 42nd St,T1-800 669 0051. Probably the best of the familiar hop-on/hop-off double-decker tour buses. They dont provide much insight into the city as they whizz by but can offer a quick overview, if youre really short of time.

Talking Street,T1-800 644 3545, http://www.talkingstreet.com Anyone with a mobile phone can take this free self-guided tour of the Lower East Side, which explores the Jewish history of the area. There are 13 stops on the one-hour tour, starting from the Visitors Center at 261 Broome Street, where youll find free maps.
