Spacious bar with easy, timeless atmosphere, where customers eat and drink at all hours at rough-wood tables and cushioned benches. Unfortunately staff are decidedly overworked. M Bastille.This is one of Bastilles friendlier hang-outs, with a lighter, ambience than some of the heavier bars in the area, more greenhouse than boudoir . The dark walls, tiny blue spotlights, candles and comfy chairs create a relaxed, vaguely hip atmosphere. On Fridays there is often live music and on Saturdays a DJ playing house and funk, otherwise the musical ambiance is soothing jazz.
