Paris - Gay and Lesbian

Travel Guides | Paris | Gay and Lesbian Paris

Dotted Line

There is an open and thriving gay scene in Paris. The fact that the mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë, is prominently and proudly gay has recently played a role in pushing gay issues to the fore. The annual parade in June – La Marche des Fiertés Lesbienne, Gaie, Bi et Trans! – just gets bigger and better every year. The Marais is an area renowned for its gay bars and clubs, but there are happening places all across town – gay entertainments are by no means ghettoized. The Centre Gai et Lesbien is a good starting point to find everything from the promotional club nights to more serious health information. Most clubs have an entrance fee in the region of €10 – weekends will set you back €20, which may or may not include your first tipple – and drinks cost on average €9.
