While central Paris is small enough to walk around, and walking is a wonderful way of soaking up the city, potential pedestrians should understand that Parisian wheeled traffic does not believe in certain aspects of road etiquette, such as pedestrian crossings. Pedestrians should therefore be ultra-prudent, and only cross the street when cars are facing a red light. Even then, keep your eyes peeled.
