These shops also have displays of Icelandic CDs so you can pick up the best of whatever you like while youre in town. CDs are expensive here and not much cheaper than buying on import in your own country. Bókavarðan, Vesturgata 17 near the old harbour. Unusual second-hand bookshop containing more than 40,000 English and Icelandic books, 1950s pictures, magazines and much much more. The literal translation is book cairn and its a treasure trove for bibliophiles interested in the bond between literature and the Icelanders.
