Reykjavík is a very open place and is welcoming towards members of the gay community. Bars and clubs are open to all-comers and it’s unlikely that you’ll encounter any problems in the city. Icelanders are very forward-looking and welcoming to all, especially in Reykjavík. Should you encounter any difficulties or problems in the city, the Gay and Lesbian Community Centre is very friendly and helpful in all areas and tourists and locals alike are welcome to join them in their bar. Apart from the MSC bar, the bars listed are mixed venues that have proved particularly popular with the gay scene. The annual Gay Pride parade on the second weekend in August has been celebrated for the last three years and is steadily growing in popularity).
