Kolaportið, Geirsgata, T 562 5030. Sat-Sun 1100-1700 In Kolaportið flea market you'll find a host of bric-a-brac stalls, second-hand clothing and a wide range of Icelandic books. One look at the stalls and you wont be surprised to find that the Icelanders publish more books per head than any other nation. There are also a few souvenir and craft stalls that are markedly less expensive and more interesting than the shops in town. Towards the back of the hall is the main event the fish market. You can try the famous hákarl as well as dried fish, huge fresh fulmar eggs and a lot of fish cheaper than at the supermarket. Unlike the majority of places in Reykjavík, youll need cash to buy from the stalls, but theres a handy cashpoint by the toilets near the east entrance.
