Apótek used to be a pharmacy, hence the name, but now dispenses tongue-twisting goodies like Tahitian tuna tartar with wonton soup and a range of sushi instead of pills and potions. Its certainly the place to see and be seen, and is good for coffee and their extra special brownie with orange sorbet during the day. The separate bar-café menu is good value and equally delicious. Argentina is a darkly seductive basement restaurant serving exceptional mouth-watering steaks of all description, specializing in beef. Its the winner of numerous accolades and is recommended. Traditional Italian restaurant on the corner of Laugavegur with lunch specials, pizza and much more expensive meat dishes in an intimate, warm restaurant. One of Reykjavíks finest seafood restaurants, specializing particularly in lobster and offering tempting dishes like pan-fried catfish with papaya salsa. In a classy atmosphere you'll be served mainly Icelandic dishes like grilled whale steak with wildberry sauce, guillemot, smoked lamb and the house speciality of seafood gratin.
