Its got a very different atmosphere from the shopping street in downtown Reykjavík with a number of chain fashion and homeware stores from Europe. It also has an off-licence, or vínbúðin. Theres also a bookshop and a post office and the third floor is home to a load of fast-food outlets, mainly American, and the toilets. The cinema and restaurants are open later in the evening and at weekends. Smáralind Mall, Hagasmáril, 201 Kópavogur, http://www.smarlaind.is Mon-Fri 1100-1900, Sat 1100-1800, Sun 1300-1800. Bus Nos 16, 17, 18, 114. The newer of the two malls, further from the city centre but with less idiosyncratic Icelandic offerings. There are 70 stores including Gap, Debenhams, Jack & Jones, Nokia, Zara, Mango, Benetton and occasional photographic exhibitions on the ground floor. The food hall includes TGI Friday, Pizza Hut and the ubiquitous hot dogs. Theres also a crêche and a cinema complex.
