If youre a lover of art, youll want to spend plenty of time in the cathedral and Museo de Bellas Artes, as well the Hospital de Caridad and also spend some time hunting down paintings in some of Sevilles lesser-known churches such as Santa María La Blanca or La Magdalena. You should spend plenty of strolling hours exploring the barrios of Triana and La Macarena and their churches, and you should be able to name at least half a dozen good bars in all the major tapas zones by the end of your stay. Make sure you plan in a visit to the Ayuntamiento and catch a bullfight or a football game if you fancy it. See both museums in the Parque de María Luisa and spend some time trying to track down some elusive, authentic flamenco as well as visiting a more established venue. Youll be able to visit both Córdoba and Jerez or perhaps one of the lesser-known gems such as Ecija with its baroque belltowers. If youre not there during Semana Santa, try and see some of the sculptures in their home churches to get an idea of what its all about; El Cachorro, La Esperanza de Triana, La Macarena, and Jesús del Gran Poder are recommended. And make sure you spend at least an hour a day doing nothing while sipping a café con hielo (coffee poured over ice) on a terrace somewhere. If you havent idled in the heat, you cant claim to know Seville.
