La Fundición, C Betis 49-50. 2100-0300 , weekend 2100-0500. A big Triana bar which goes late with a cheerily drunk crowd of locals and foreigners. The beers cold, theres a pool table (though its not usable when the bars full), and the music is soft enough to allow the chat-up lines to flow thick and fast. The decor is of the generic American filling station type. Capote, C Arjona s/n. By Puente Isabel II. Jun-Sep 1100-0300. A summer-only open-air bar that looks like its on a Carib- bean beach with palm fronds and relaxed Cuban music. An excellent option for an afternoon beer or a late drink. Frequent live music. La Fábrica, Centro Plaza De Armas, T 954 908 828, http://www.lafabrica- cerveceros.com 1200-0100 . Despite a chain pub feel (its actually not one), this place near the bus station is worth a visit. They brew their own good beer and theres plenty of sunshine on the terrace. There are also good tapas available. Nu Yor Café, C Marqués de Paradas 30, T 954 212 889. 2300- 0400. A posh and attractive bar with an air of smart elegance. Set in a high, closed patio and decked out with architectural drawings, theres live jazz and Cuban music here on Thursday-Saturday from 2400. Drinks are fairly pricey and rise later in the night, but theres a decent spirit selection. Quita Pesares, Pl Jerónimo de Córdoba, T 954 229 385. 1200-1600, 2000-0200. This cheery bar is run by larger-than- life character, flamenco singer Pepe Peregil. Hes a shoo-in for any Spaniard-of-the-month contest and breaks into song at regular intervals between healthy draughts of the excellent barrelled manzanilla and slices of jamón serrano. Taboo, C Trastamara 30. Thu-Sat 2000-0300, Sun 1700-0100. A very interesting bar near the bus station with a big range of events from house music nights to flamenco to Sunday afternoon comedy. Attracts a cool, young mixed set but its not a cliquey place. Bar La Sirenas, Alameda de Hércules 34. 1600-0200 (weekends 0400). Another lively bar in this zone, much favoured by rockers, punks, and anarchists, who mingle in a cheerful outdoor beer zone. Bar Santa Marta, Cnr C Daóiz & Angostillo, T 954 901 954. 1200-0100. A good place for outdoor drinking of an evening with a big terrace in a pretty cobbled square by a church. The tapas and raciones are fairly standard but tasty Sevillian fare. Bulebar Café, Alda de Hércules 82, T 954 901 954. 1300-0100. One of several good choices on this long promenade, the Bulebar has a nice little terrace and is decorated with rows of coloured disks. Its a popular meeting point for an alternative set and has a relaxed feel about it.
