Sumptuously decked out in tiles and wood, this café is opposite the basilica in Macarena. There’s a lovely tiled wall showing the old barrio and, of course, the Virgin of Macarena herself in one corner. As well as coffee, there are tapas and many excellent rich desserts. Esfera, C Marie Curie s/n. Mon-Sat 1030-2400. A pleasant bar-café in the old Expo site, especially in summer, when you can sit on its terrace and watch the fountains with a cold beer in hand.
